Jinhee Kim’s undergraduate studies in organ were with Dr. Tong-Soon Kwak at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Kim graduated with the Highest Honors and was awarded both the University Designated Scholarship and the Yonsei Alumni Scholarship. She also attended master classes taught by Ludger Lohmann, Wolfgang Zerer, Christoph Bossert, Olivier Latry, and others, and appeared on the Rising Stars Concert Series at the Torch Center for World Missions in 2008.
Jinhee came to the United States in 2009 to attend the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Professor James David Christie and Olivier Latry. She received her Artist Diploma in Organ Performance from the institution. During her studies, she won the First Prize in the San Marino Elftman Organ Competition in 2010 and was selected to play in the Danenberg Honor’s Recital at Oberlin in 2011.
Jinhee received her Master’s degree in organ performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she studied with Dr. Christopher Young. As a student at Indiana University, she was a finalist in the Longwood Garden International Organ Competition in 2013, and a winner of the first American round of the Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in 2015. As an active performer, Jinhee has performed recitals in Cleveland, OH, Naples, Fl, Oberlin, OH, St. Louis, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, IN, and Bloomington, IN. As an Associate Instructor, Kim taught Secondary and Elective Organ lessons at Indiana University in 2016 and 2017.
Jinhee is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Organ Performance at Indiana University and serves as Music Director and Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, Indiana.
